Auburn - Ron Paul, the former presidential candidate who won an upset victory at the 2012 Maine Republican Convention, is endorsing Eric Brakey of Auburn in his campaign for the Maine State Senate.
"I have seen Eric's commitment to limited government and more personal liberties through his work on my campaign. I think he would make a great State Senator and am proud to endorse his campaign," writes Dr. Ron Paul.
Brakey, who served as the Maine State Political Director for the Ron Paul's Presidential Campaign in 2012, is the first and only candidate for office in Maine to receive an endorsement from the former Texas Congressman so far this election cycle.
"I am humbled to receive Dr. Paul's endorsement," says Brakey. "Congressman Paul has set a tremendous example of how to put partisan politics aside in order to serve the best interests of the people. As the next Maine Senator for my community, I will seek to emulate the courage and principled diligence that Congressman Paul has shown throughout his career."
Eric Brakey of Auburn has five generations of family roots in New Gloucester. Brakey is a candidate for Maine Senate in District 20: Auburn, New Gloucester, Poland, Minot and Mechanic Falls. He works for Brakey Energy, a family-run business that helps companies reduce their energy costs and become energy efficient.
