Brakey on Ballot for Maine State Senate

AUBURN - On Tuesday, Eric Brakey---a Republican candidate for State Senate District 20 (Auburn, New Gloucester, Poland, Minot and Mechanic Falls)---turned in over 140 signatures to the Maine Secretary of State.

This guarantees that Brakey's name will appear on the ballot for Maine State Senate later this year.

"Voters from all five towns of this district volunteered their signatures to support our campaign," says Brakey. "They want fresh, new leadership representing them in Augusta, and I am grateful for the confidence they are placing in me."

Earlier this year, Eric Brakey made news with his announcement that his campaign for State Senate had shattered state fundraising records, raising over $21,000 in 2013. Brakey was proud to report that every dollar was contributed from regular people, not a single penny coming from lobbyists or special interest groups.

Professionally, Eric Brakey works for his family business, Brakey Energy, helping industrial clients reduce energy costs and become energy efficient. In Augusta, Brakey regularly testifies at legislative public hearings in favor of individual freedom, privacy rights, affordable energy, and welfare reform.
