Brakey Campaign Leads State in Fundraising

AUBURN - Eric Brakey, candidate for Maine Senate District 20 (which includes Auburn, New Gloucester, Poland, Minot and Mechanic Falls), leads the state in fundraising, having raised over $32,800, more than every other candidate in Maine's 186 state legislative races.

"Our strong fundraising is a direct result of the incredible grassroots support for our campaign," says Brakey.

"Augusta politicians are spending away the opportunities of future generations with unaffordable big government. Maine people know the career politicians made this mess, and they are ready for bold, new leadership to clean it up."

With over 180 individual contributors, the most common contribution to the Brakey for Senate Campaign is $50.

Also leading the pack in fundraising is Senator Garrett Mason of Lisbon, a 2nd term incumbent running for re-election in District #22. The Mason Campaign has raised $27,600, making him the 2nd highest fundraiser in the state behind Eric Brakey.

The two leading candidates are both Republicans from Androscoggin County, and at the ages of 25 and 28, Eric Brakey and Garrett Mason also lead the state as the two youngest candidates for Maine Senate.

Eric Brakey of Auburn has five generations of family roots in New Gloucester. He works for Brakey Energy, a family-run business that works with companies to reduce their energy costs and become energy efficient. Brakey was recently endorsed by Former Congressman Ron Paul of Texas in his campaign for Maine Senate.
